Unfinished Masterpiece, Chosen...Loved....Adopted By Ginney K. Duffey, Ph.D and Janice Butya Zarzeczny, M.Ed.
This is a new book written by two IAG adoptive parents. The book serves as a practical, insightful, and spiritual guide for both adoptive parents and those considering the possibility of adoption. The authors write that "The ultimate goal of our book is to promote adoption of children of all races, creeds and colors both in the United States and throughout the world, for the right reasons." Some examples of the chapter headings are "Unfinished Masterpiece...A Child is Born (And Now What?)" and "Raising an Unspoiled Masterpiece" to "This Child is Mine...and I Am Theirs." The authors tell their own adoption stories with sensitivity and humor (and lots of pictures!) But the book goes well beyond a personal adoption journal. The authors offer practical information and advice covering the decision to adopt all the way to parenting the "adopted" child. And finally both women make the emphatic point that, in adoption it is we the parents who have chosen to make a commitment to their child and they want to prepare prospective adoptive parents for all the highs and lows that this kind of commitment entails!
The book can be purchased for $12.00 + tax ($12.84) and can be purchased directly from the authors at: ZarDuff, LLC, P.O. Box 273, Wexford, PA 15090. information can be obtained via: gkduffey@comcast.net
