Other Services Provided

IAG is currently providing the following additional services exclusively to their IAG families.  Each service is provided on a “fee for service” basis and you can gather the fee information by contacting our offices in Oakmont, PA.

  1. Home Study Completion-If you reside within the state of Pennsylvania, IAG is licensed to perform home studies on your behalf.  While you are free to utilize any home study provider for your home study, there are some benefits to using our services.  First, you would have much less duplication of documents as many of the documents that you provide to your IAG Social Worker can also be used to complete your Russian dossier.  If you chose to use a different home study provider, you will need to complete many documents again to comply with the Russian standards and format. Second, since you will be speaking to an IAG Social Worker, you will learn about IAG's adoption program before you even come for your interview.  This creates a continuity that other families who use a different provider will not have.

If you are interested in having your home study completed by IAG, please contact Mary Graber.

  1. Travel Assistance- Many families feel that it is important to travel back to Russia at some point in their children’s lives.  IAG can assist families with obtaining the proper visas to enter Russia again with their child.  In addition, if there are drivers and translators available during the time of your travel, IAG can assist you in hiring them for the duration of your stay. Also, when a child who has been adopted from Russia returns to their country of birth, they are required to travel on their    Russian (not US passports).  The Russian government views every adopted child as a Russian citizen and they will not issue a visa in their US passports.  Therefore, if your child does not have a current Russian passport, you will be required to renew their Russian passport prior to making any travel plans to Russia.
  1. Child’s Russian Passport Renewal- IAG will assist families in obtaining a new Russian passport for their adopted child.  This service is available for families who simply wish to keep their child’s Russian passport current, or for those planning to travel to Russia. There are many documents that need to be gathered prior to contacting IAG to renew the passport.  Every consulate may have different requirements so the following list may not be comprehensive.  In addition, if you never registered your child in Russia (most adoptions completed prior to 2002 did not complete a registration)- you will need to register your child before a passport can be renewed.  Additional documents are required for the registration and you can contact Carol Michaux at IAG for more information on registration updates.
