IAG PICNIC HELD AT KENNYWOOD-JULY 18, 2011

International Assistance Group, Inc. held their summer picnic at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh on 7/18/11.  There were over 100 people in attendance this year making it our largest group in several years. Naturally  we had the pre requisite humidity and heat which culminated in a dinner time thunderstorm!  Of course the children were oblivious to the weather and enjoyed running in the rain.  The buffet dinner was also a hit among the children as the dessert featured the famous “Eat and Park Smily Cookie.”

There were several families in attendance who adopted many years ago, their (now) teenage children in tow.  It was so special to see these kids who we all remembered as babies and toddlers all grown up!

Director Larisa Mason was on hand to meet and greet the children and families.  She is featured above with the two Shoff children-Emily  (adopted from Guatemala in 2008) and Evan (adopted from Moscow in 2010).
