EMERGENCY RESCHEDULING OF WHITE NIGHTS!

April 20, 2010

Dear Friend of IAG,

After much consideration, IAG has decided to postpone the White Nights Weekend Fundraising Event to the weekend of August 28, 2010. The reason behind the postponement is that our Russian guests (Baby Home Directors, Representatives, Drivers etc.) are experiencing difficulty in obtaining airline tickets to come to the US due to the continued problems with the Iceland volcano. As you know, the main purpose of the event is to reunite our Russian friends with the families whose lives they have touched through the miracle of adoption. We felt that we simply could not hold the event without them.

We are asking your forgiveness if you have already made arrangements via hotel reservations and airfare. The Omni William Penn Hotel is honoring any reservations and will simply apply your deposit to the new date if desired.

Also, if you plan on attending the event, you can simply use the response card in the original invitation that you should have already received. The location and times indicated in the original invitation will remain the same. The Brunch will be held on Sunday August 29, 2010 in the same location.

If you have not sent IAG the "Then and Now" photos of your children, you are encouraged to do so as well since we have more time to complete this video. Again, we apologize if this change has caused you any inconvenience.

Please feel free to contact John Wilson at jwilson@iagadoptions.org or (412) 828-5800 if you have any specific questions/concerns.

Regards,

Larisa Mason

2010 White Nights Gala

This year our "White Nights Weekend" will be held August 28th & 29th, 2010. The highlight of the weekend will be our Black Tie Fundraiser, which will be held Saturday, August 28th in the "Grand Ballroom" of the Omni Wm. Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.

If we receive enough sponsorship commitments we hope to bring many of our Russian friends to Pittsburgh to attend the weekend's events. It is our hope that you would consider being a sponsor so we would be able to bring the entire group of drivers and translators.

At our last Gala in 2007 we had 60 of the older children attend and they had a wonderful time. The Gala will be open again for children age 10 and up. It will be great to let them experience this event, first hand, which raises money for children in Russia. The children will be introduced at the Gala and enjoy dinner with the adults.

We will have activities that will be entertaining for the older children attending the Gala. As in the past, a babysitting service can be contacted at www.rentamominpittsburgh.net to contract with for children less than 10 years of age.

The weekend will include Saturday activities open to all the families attending the Gala. We will charter a shuttle bus to take and pick up families to three area attractions, the National Aviary, the Children's Museum and the Carnegie Science Center. These three attractions are a five minute ride from the Omni Wm. Penn Hotel. We are hoping to charter a one hour outing with "Just Ducky Tours" also. This is a unique way to see the sights of Pittsburgh. We would need a minimum number of families to sponsor this land and water tour. Clients would be picked up and dropped off at the Omni William Penn. A subway stop is located across the street if you would care to sight see on your own. It is a short, subway ride to Station Square and the Monongahela Incline located on Mt. Washington.

Our Reunion Brunch will be held on Sunday, August 29th. The brunch will also be at the Omni Wm. Penn. All IAG families are invited to attend the brunch. Attendance at the Gala is not required to attend the brunch.

"IAG has reserved a limited number of rooms at a discount rate at the Omni William Penn hotel. These rooms are on a first come basis. To reserve a room contact the Omni William Penn hotel at 412-281-7100 and ask for the IAG or International Assistance Group rate."

The Fundraiser Drawing will be held at the Gala on August 28th. Tickets are still available by contacting the IAG office. Tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100.
