ALERT: As many of you have already heard, there have been several media outlets reporting that the Russian government has suspended all adoptions from Russia to Americans. However, the information received from the Minister of Education in Moscow reveals that they cannot confirm this statement. As of this morning (4/15/10) there has been no official documentation received by any of the Russian Ministries from either the President or the Duma that suspends adoptions to Americans.

Therefore, IAG will continue to work with our families to complete their adoptions. We will notify you immediately if there are any changes. Please contact your IAG Case Manager if you have specific questions.

The International Assistance Group ("IAG") is an accredited, non-profit, licensed adoption agency originally established in 1992. The agency is currently accredited by the government of the Russian Federation. IAG has also received Hague Accreditation in the United States by the Council on Accreditation (COA).

IAG provides a comprehensive adoption program that emphasizes personal attention and specialized service. As such, IAG limits the number of adoptions completed through the year. The agency is unique because the American staff of IAG is personally involved in every aspect of each adoption. IAG has unparalleled, direct communication and personal relationships with all those involved in the adoption process.

IAG Wings of Hope Program for Special Needs Adoption

IAG's Board of Directors has approved donating a portion of every fee towards the "Wings of Hope" program. The Wings of Hope program is being created to encourage and support the placement of special needs children from Russia. There are many children waiting for adoption in Russia, who have physical, medical or psychological challenges. IAG strongly believes that these children deserve the love and security that only a family can provide. As such, IAG will sponsor the placement of these children into qualified, adoptive families. Anyone interested in adopting a special needs child through the Wings of Hope program will only be required to pay for homestudy and travel expenses in addition to IAG's direct "out-of-pocket" expenses (i.e., administrative fee). "Together we can make a difference" and bring hope to infants and children with special needs. Anyone who is interested in learning more about IAG's Wings of Hope program can contact the agency at (412) 828-5800.
